(April 16th, 2011)
I've posted some videos on YouTube from my living room. These are recorded live in my home and are covers of some McCartney favourites. I will continue to post videos there so be sure to suscribe to my page there if you want to stay updated on those.
Feel free to friend me on Facebook as well. There's a link at the bottom of this page. I've got all sorts of wackyness going on there and loads of photos. I'm still not playing very much these days due to maternity leave. Most of my arrangements have been private, but check the performances page for updates and booking info.
Love to all,
Deb
(September 1st, 2010)
I screwed up my site history and lost most of the info on this and my performances page, so I'll get caught up with that ASAP. Here's a brief summary of what news I lost here:
Realized I was pregnant

Took some time off from playing

Had a baby

Lost a bunch of weight

Started playing again, this time with the family on tour with me

Lucifer Was released that album I played flute and did vocals on ("Crown of Creation") and is getting great reviews

Played a benefit concert for the flood victims of Pakistan in association with the Norwegian Red Cross

Screwed up something on my page designer and lost half my site
Now recovering as much as I can of my site and updating my calender

Well, gee wiz, I've been living on another planet the past year! Well, I'm back now in an active way. I've been playing at the same rate, however I have not been net-friendly. I've been having a bit of technical trouble. Let's hope it won't slow me down too much this time. Yes, my site is developing a new a new look. Please don't hate me while I adjust the colours and everything. I've recently changed my look somewhat and new photos will be added as I get them downloaded. I would very much like to thank all you lovely people who have signed my guestbook and extend my apologies for not commenting back. This is also due to a technical failure. I'll sort this out as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience. I've got a huge secret. Check back for details.
I'm on itunes! That's right, and a whole bunch of places where music can be downloaded. So if you can't make the gig or aquire my CDs in your local music store, well, just search for me on one of the many popular download sites and I'm yours! When I get this site a little more manageable, I'll have links available to take you directly to all the music. Do forgive me for this ridiculous sideways scrolling. I know that it is more than annoying and I should be punished.

New CD!!!!
The new CD, Nice 'n' Rough is done and ready for purchase. This CD, as the title suggests, has a much rawer, live sound and is dancable, in contrast to the symphonic, Beatlesque Working Woman. Soon, I will be establishing web distribution. In the meantime, you can order it by sending me an e-mail. The price of the CD is 150 Norwegian kroner, and if you want this one in addition to the last CD, you may purchase the two together for 250 Norwegian kroner, which is a savings of 50 kroner. That's about 10 bucks! I don't have any sound bites for you yet from Nice 'n' Rough, but they're on their way.
Happy Easter, April fools and a set o' new tools!
(April 2008)
As you can see, my site has yet another new look. Kai P. Took some new photos in February (for the cover of my NEXT CD COMING EXTREMELY SOON, so I had to take advantage of the situation and wack these beauties in here. As luck would have it, I've got a great team working with me on this new CD production, so there's some rubber bumpers around to keep me from going off the edge this time with a trillion over-dubs and, "Oooh! What happens if I press THIS button?", she whispered with excited anticipation while eagerly pressing the button, effortlessly maintaining a maniacal grin of unbridled curiosity, pale hands shaking in the hopes of driving the already tweaked technicians in the control room wild with fear, yet obtaining a slight glimmer of hope, then acheiving a look of suprised jubilation in the new approach and, at worst, upon slight occasion, a whimper of...sympathetic saddness followed by a lingering moment of quiet shame shared by all who are present. This shame resembles the cloud of a dissappointing fart which isn't even worthy of clearing a room full of rabid weezles with an accute sense of smell and/or a sense of dignity.
That kind of stuff. Ahem...I've been known to do that, both of those things, incidentally, with the exception of having cleared a room by farting. Oh, I've done that, dude. In any case, as a result of this impulsive behaviour, I have developed a catch phrase for experiencing any moment of compulsive creativity: I would like to apologize in advance for what I am about to do, for I cannot be stopped, unless I become suddenly bored, and you wouldn't like me when I'm bored. So, if you would be so kind as to indulge me....and so on.
By the Way...
I'd like to thank everyone who played a roll on the team of the Rockefeller concert, "An Evening with the Music of John Lennon" (9.02.2008) for being so enthusiastic. We had stars on stage, off-stage and back-stage. Everyone was excellent and a good time was had by all! I'd especially like to thank the musical director Jack Mittleman for putting so much trust in me for booking the local artists, including little ol' me, and in my marvelous husband Kai P. for handling the logistics. A special thanks goes out to Peter Naslund for paying the bill. I don't care where your'e from, that's gotta hurt! Thanks for your support, you rockin' dude, you!!!
I am extrememly grateful to all of the artists who agreed to perform at this happening. Although it sounds totally posed, I have to proclaim that this evening was magical for me. I have never been so honoured as to work with so many world-class musicians as these, whom I'd have never met had it not been for flying beyond the rainbow (...from Kansas, right? You knew I was from Kansas, right? Well I am, so there's your little fluff there about Kansas and rainbows and Dorothy, etc....ugh, I'm waffling again...)
The guest artists including the intertnational foxes were:
Alan White w/band
Tony Sheridan
Eric Bazillian
Ryan Roxie
Lars Lillo Stenberg
Unni Willhelmsen
Stephen Ackles
Jørun Bøgeberg
Tor Olsen
Moi
Jack Mittleman (the Maistro!)
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
(2008)
It's a new year and a new list of opportunities for all who will partake! I would simply like to thank all of my fans and friends for your support in keeping me busy with my music and to wish you a very happy New Year. Be good to yourself and your friends. And if you are blessed with gifts (as in talents, abilities, etc...not, like, Christmas presents...), please share them with one another and the rest of the world. Put something in that has not yet been there before. I plan on doing so and hope you are too. May God be with you all and give you good fortune!
Updates
Besides the obvious change of appearance of the Debsite, please note that the "performances" page has been updated. Simply scroll down on it in order to fetch the 2008 schedule.
Hey, Bulldog!!!!!!!
Tickets are still on sale for "An Evening with the Music of John Lennon", so you may want to go to billettservice.no and get ready for an amazing experience at Rockefeller on February 9th! Check the "performances" page for more details.
The New CD!!!
The new CD, with the working title, "Nice-n-Rough", which is currently in progress with Thore Engen and Freddy Lingquist is scheduled for release in February. Check back for news on that at your earliest convenience. I'll let you all know what's going on there as things develop.
In the meantime, keep the love flowing!
Thank you.
Love, Deb

New collaborations, a remix and a new CD!!!
Hey, kids! Boy, oh boy, has a lot happened in the past year. Where do I begin? Well as far as those of you who are still wondering where to buy my CD "Working Woman", well, as the will of God would have it, I'm sad to report that I have yet to establish official distribution of this, but there's a GOOD REASON. Check this out, boys and girls...I'm remixing it and remastering it and making a new version which is going to be the "Official" version of "Working Woman". Now, I'm aware that some of you have aquired the current version, and I thank you for your support. You all rock like there's no tomorrow. I love you guys...THEREFORE...the current version of "Working Woman" may now refered to as the "1st pressing collectors edition"! The new one will be different, I assure you. Some tracks will be improved and some will even be REMOVED-OUCH!!! So those of you who are sitting on "Working Woman #1" have something of an item which will never, and I repeat NEVER be released officially. By the way, I still have a few left, so just let me know if y'all want one. You can always find me at The Ferryman in Oslo on Thursdays between (8:00-12:00...er, at night) where you are more than welcome to approach me for an opportunity to collect some rare art. Tee hee.
Which brings me to my next point. I'm collaborating with a new producer. The prog rock has lead me to and fro this year and it smacked me right into the face of one of Norways most renowned rock producers Thore Engen!
Weeeeeeeeee!
Thore and I decided to collaborate and make some noise with another producer called Freddy Linquist. You may have heard of him, as he's a bit of a Norwegian music legend. I'm actually going to make a brand new CD, which has nothing at all to do with "Working Woman" with him and we're starting already in early October. This is going to be a much rawer project with more of just my guitar and me. I'll be including some of your favourite covers on this one so that those of you who dig me live can take that feeling home with you. After we're done with that, we're remixing, remastering and rearranging "Working Woman". Both CDs WILL...and I mean it this time...WILL be released officially next year. It's going to be completely mental!
In addition to all this gorgeous nonsense, I've joined his band, Lucifer Was (who, by the way have been going since 1970) as his flautist and acoustic guitarist. We did our first gig together at Maiden in Oslo about a month ago and it was a smashing good time! Look out for us, because we're in the process of recording a new CD as well, backed by the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra. Now we're gettin' nuts...proglicious!!!!!
(Photo by a gorgeous gentleman named Stan from England taken at the Rights of Spring Festival in Pheonixville, PA, USA...thanks Stan!)
In other news, Retroheads is still forging ahead and I'm still a once-in-a-blue-moon guest artist with Det Betales. That's all churning away at it's own pace and going nicely...I think.
Be sure to check back soon for an update, because I'll be providing you all some more information on Jack Mittleman's concert extraviganza "An Evening With John Lennon" with Alan White. That's right, drummer of the Plastic Ono Band and Yes, Alan White. This will be going down at Rockefeller (Oslo) on the 9th of February next year. We'll be celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Beatles' White Album. Jack's doing a whole tour out of the deal, but I and my lovely husband Kai have been put in charge of booking the Oslo bit. I've managed to get the cooperation of some of Norway's most awesome artists. Who'll be there? Well, me for starters, but then...ahem...
Lars Lillo Stenberg, Stephen Ackles, Unni Wilhelmsen, Jørun Bøgegerg and Tor Olsen from Norway. Jack's bringing in Ryan Roxy from Alice Cooper's band to sing with us and we're flying Tony Sheridan in from Germany! This is one that any Lennon fan should cry him/herself to sleep every night for the rest of his or her life if they miss it. If you're not gonna be there, I'm comin' lookin' for ya!!! Remember...9th of February....number 9.....number 9....number ni-an.....Rockefeller. Wooooooo-Hooooooo!!!!!
October 2006
New Debsite!
As you have more than likely discovered by now, I've got a new website. It's not necessarily better than the last one, but it's got a new look, and the gigs are up to date. For some uncanny reason, my PC wouldn't let me access my old site in order to update my calender page, so it was rendered useless, I'm afraid. I'm blown away by the look of my colleagues' sites (This means you, Jack!), as they are so gosh-darn professional and have all the fancy flash intros and frames, etc... But since I'm still running my own peanut factory, as it were, I had to cut costs somewhere in order to produce my NEW CD, so this is all I've got to offer, kids. Sad, isn't it? I do intend on getting better at this site building business, so if you would be so kind as to offer me your patience, I won't let you down. The old site, incidentally, will still be up and running for a while just in case any of you are feeling nostalgic. Anywho, welcome to my new site, everybody! Now, most of the content on it is pretty much the same...mostly the same photos, bio and a slightly updated press release and discography. The bio and the press pages are still written in third person because 1.) They are actually intended for the press to nick stuff from and 2.) It would be awfully ikky for me to brag about myself in that manner, wouldn't it? Ew!
The Art
About the artwork: the medieval art featured on these pages is copyright-free. So, if you like any of these pictures, don't be afraid to save them on to your PC and do what you like with them. They're hundreds of years old and therefore public domain. I was very concious about not choosing any pieces with copyrights. That would be just down-right nasty. I absolutely adore medieval art, and it somewhat suits my image, don't ya think? It's pretty, too. The photographs of myself are protected by copyright, however, and unless you are press, I will thank you to credit them to the photographer, Kai P. Hovind, if you use them.
The New Guestbook
There is also a brand-spankin' new guestbook. My new hosting service didn't include a guestbook in this site, so I got one elsewhere. Don't panic when the domain name changes. It's still part of the happy Debsite page family and will link you right back to the opening page. Please take the time to drop me a line in my guestbook. I know that I've become notorious for not responding to comments there, but I'm working really hard on changing my ways. If I don't get back to you, feel free to e-mail me, and that should get things moving a bit faster.
MySpace
After years of nagging and being dragged and kicked around, I've finally got a MySpace page now, so you can go in and listen to some of the tracks from my NEW CD. That's right, I've got a NEW CD, but I'll get back to that in good time. Come on in to my MySpace page and request me as a friend. I'll approve you as long as you're not a complete pervert. Then, write lots of nice stuff about me so everybody thinks I'm cool. If you do, I'll write nice stuff about you back!
...and in other news...
My Debut in Progressive Rock!
Some months ago, I was invited to join Retroheads , a monster of a prog-rock band, as their flautist and back-up vocalist. We've just released a NEW CD, Introspective, with Canadian label, Unicorn Records, and will soon be going on a world tour together. It really is a great joy to play with these people, as they are all much better musicians than myself. I've never played so much 7/8 in my life! Follow the link above to give us a listen and maybe buy our CD. (In case you're wondering, I'm the second one from the right.)
...and now, ladies and gentlemen...
!!!My New CD!!!
Yes, it's finally done! My debut solo album appropriately titled, Working Woman, is on it's way from the press and soon available for purchase. I have to say I'm really pleased with the result. It's a bit symphonic, a bit acoustic, extremely melodic, somewhat heavy and psychotic in places; a rather accurate depiction of what goes on in my head. I'm still looking for a licensing deal, but I'm putting it out on my own SHINY NEW LABLE, Gladiatrix Music, either way. I would very much like to thank all of my fans and friends who have pestered me over the years to get this thing off the ground. It sincerely would not have been possible without you. I'd also like to thank Fond for Lyd og Bilde, Fond for Utøvende Kunstnere, and Komponistenes Vederlagsfond for helping me out financially. You all provide a generous and selfless service for those of us who comercially fall between the cracks. You rule! As soon as I get my CDs which are being pressed in Sweden as we live and breathe, I will post updates as to where they can be aquired. In the meantime, stop by MySpace to listen to four of the thirteen tracks. You're also more than welcome to come see me perform live, and I'll sell you a CD right out of my hot little hand! Don't be afraid. I'm actually a pretty nice person, really I am.
Coming Soon
As I mentioned earlier, I do intend on improving my technically challenged state, and there are features at my disposal with my new hosting service that I have yet to utilize. I will be downloading soundbytes onto this site. I will have a shopping cart, and if not, a cute link directing you to one elsewhere. I will also gradually improve the look of this site so that it doesn't look like a retarded three-year-old designed it. I will learn, OH YES. I will.
That's all the news for now. I advise you all to check regularly for updates, as there is a lot going on these days. Thank you for the music and have a happy, happy day!
Be well,
Deb
